TDI Intro to Tech
The TDI Intro to Tech course allows divers who are interested in technical diving to gain technical diving knowledge and experience with little effort and material costs.
In the theoretical section, we consider the different areas of technical diving. We focus on the wide range of technical diving equipment needed for various kinds of technical diving. For example cave diving, deep diving, wreck diving.
Some of the topics we teach are situation awareness, partner consciousness, dive planning, gas planning, underwater communication and more.
The practical part of the technical diving course includes a minimum of two confined water dives and two open water dives. The confined water dives are done in calm shallow waters of Casa cenote. We practice the handling of the new equipment (double tanks, long hose, wing, etc.) and we talk and rehearse the emergency procedures. In the open water dives the goal is to successfully implement what has been learned before.
We focus on the importance of the various propulsion techniques. We learn how to do the different kicks like the Frog, -Flutter, -Reverse Frog kick, or the Shuffle kick. This guarantees a propulsion with increased energy savings.
As with all TDI courses at DeepDiveMexico we focus on quality teaching by having only two students per open water instructor. This way you get more personal learning with your instructor.
Depending on weather conditions and the preferences of the participants, this course can be done in the sea or in the open areas by some cenotes.
Some cenotes even offer similar conditions as a swimming pool. Clear water and visibility over 30m are probably more interesting than a regular swimming pool.
This course is the foundation for all the advanced technical diving courses such as Cavern, Intro to Cave or Full cave.
