Cenote Taj Ma Ha :
Level: Beginner to Advanced
Depth: max 14-15 meters
Temperature: constantly 26°C
Cenote Tajma Ha is located about 30 kilometers south of Playa del Carmen and its name was inspired by the famous mausoleum in India. Because the Mayan word Ha means “water”, it was easy to name it Tajma Ha.
The entrance to the cenote is easily seen from Highway 307 because of its large sign. A small, private road of about 2 kilometers leads us to the installations. There are toilets and concrete tables to assemble our equipment right next to the entrance where the cenote is.
Cenote Taj Ma Ha and its light effects:
This specific cenote is famous for its incomparable light effects which are always changing depending on the season. The reason for these changes is the continuously changing position of the sun. During the spring and summer from March to September, we find probably one of the most amazing and popular light effects of all the cenotes. In a room called ‘Points of Light’, there are several holes in the roof from where sunbeams enter the cavern area and create this spectacular effect.
The dive time at Tajma Ha is approximately 60 minutes with a maximum depth of 14 to 15 meters.
