The Cenote Tak Be Ha :
Level: Expert
Depth: max 6.5 meters
Temperature: constantly 26°C
Cenote Tak Be Ha is one of the many cenotes inside the park of Dos Ojos, about 50 kilometers south of Playa del Carmen.
This beautiful cenote can be reached by the same road as Tak Be Luum. The
infrastructure is limited because, apart from toilets, there is only one table to arrange our equipment. Our advantage is that we definitely cannot expect big groups of divers to come here.
A small path from the parking lot leads us to the stairs going down into the dry cavern area of Tak Be Ha. Upon entering the dry cavern, the cenote offers us an astonishing view. The roof, which is completely covered with stalactites, is illuminated with artificial light and you can hear the water dripping from the roof. With huge roots hanging down from the roof, the cenote gives us a phenomenal view for taking pictures.
There are stairs to enter the shallow water where the dive starts. For the first 15 to 20 minutes, we dive in the very shallow open water area of the cenote before entering the overhead part of the cavern. Following the guideline, we are never deeper than 6 to 7 meters and the formations are presented as if on a silver platter. If there would be artificial light, it would be like walking through a modern art museum.
