TDI Intro to Tech
The TDI Intro to Tech course allows divers who are interested in technical diving to gain technical diving knowledge and experience with little effort and material costs.
In the theoretical section, we consider the different areas of technical diving. We focus on the wide range of technical diving equipment needed for various kinds of technical diving, such as cave diving as well deep diving or wreck diving.
Some of the topics we teach are situational awareness, dive buddy awareness, dive planning, gas planning and underwater communication.
The practical part
The practical part of the Intro to Tech course includes a minimum of two confined water dives and two open water dives. The confined water dives are done in the calm shallow waters of Casa Cenote. We practice the handling of new equipment (double tanks, long hose, wing, etc.) and we discuss and rehearse the emergency procedures. On the open water dives, the goal is to successfully implement what has been learned earlier.
We focus on the importance of the various propulsion techniques. We learn how to do different kicks such as the frog, flutter, reverse frog and shuffle kicks. This guarantees propulsion with increased energy savings.
As with all TDI courses at DeepDiveMexico, we focus on quality teaching by having only two students per instructor. This way you get more personal learning with your instructor.
Depending on weather conditions and the preferences of the participants, this course can be done in the sea or in the open areas of some cenotes.
Some cenotes even offer conditions similar to a swimming pool. The clear water and visibility over 30 meters/90 feet are definitely more interesting than a regular pool.
This course is the foundation for all advanced technical diving courses such as Cavern, Intro to Cave or Full Cave.
