Advanced Open Water Diver Course

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) or SDI Advanced Adventurer course provides you with additional valuable diving skills and experience. You can dive almost twice as deep, check out shipwrecks which are beyond the open water depth limit of 18 meters/60 feet, and are able to take the amazing Rescue Diver course.

This course also makes you a safer diver because it teaches you to dive in more challenging conditions in which you most likely will find yourself at some point. It is an amazing and important course for any person who wants to be a skilled, safe long-term diver who will inevitably be exposed to more challenging diving conditions. So much fun to experience diving at night, in current, and a cool 30-meter/100-foot deep dive while under the supervision of a professional dive instructor. Under the expert guidance of your instructor, you will be able to visit some of the best diving spots in Playa del Carmen.

To earn a Advanced Open Water Diver certification, you must complete five Adventure Dives. These must include the “Deep” and “Underwater Navigation” dives plus 3 elective dives, which you choose together with your dive instructor. This course is at least 3 days long.

Alternatively, with eLearning you can complete the theory part of the course from
home before your vacation.

Children from 12 to 14 years old can get the Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
certification. The maximum depth for a PADI or SDI AOWD is 30 meters/100 feet; for a
Junior Advanced Open Water Diver it is 21 meters/70 feet.

How it works:

We start at 8:00 AM with a cup of coffee or a glass of water and discuss the Knowledge Reviews you have completed in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Manual or in the SDI Elearning

After a short lunch break, we plan our dives and discuss the requirements you have to fulfill on your Adventure Dives. The boat departs from the nearby harbor at 1:00 PM and we make the first dive of your AOWD course to get well familiarized and comfortable with the scuba diving equipment.

A lot of fun, valuable knowledge and a high degree of safety is our focus.

Afterwards, you will be certified as a Advances Open Water Diver which is recognized worldwide.
