There is practically no difference between the SDI Advanced Adventure Diver and the PADI Advanced Open Water.
Both courses include e-learning beforehand, which you should ideally complete from home.

How much does the Advanced Open Water course in Playa del Carmen cost?
355 € for 6 dives in Playa del Carmen, 420 € for 4 dives in Playa and 2 in the cenotes, 485 € for 4 cenote and 2 Playa dives, or 485 € for 2 dives each in the cenotes, Playa and on Cozumel. Learning material is not included (PADI e-learning 228 €, SDI e-learning 100 €).
Which adventure dives can I choose?
Navigation and deep are mandatory. You can add e.g. Nitrox, Peak Performance Buoyancy, fish identification, drift, naturalist, boat, Project Aware, wreck or night diving (surcharge) and Cavern Diver (November–February, surcharge).
What is the difference between PADI Advanced Open Water and SDI Advanced Adventure Diver?
Practically none. Both start with e-learning and can be completed in 3 days.
Do I need Advanced Open Water for the bull shark dive?
Yes. Advanced Open Water Diver is the minimum requirement for the bull shark dive because it goes deeper than 18 meters (59 ft).
Can I spread the course over several days?
Yes. You can do it on three consecutive days or spread it over your holiday.
Is rental equipment included in the Advanced Open Water course?
Yes, rental equipment is included in the course price. Learning material (e-learning) is not included.
Can I combine Open Water and Advanced Open Water?
Yes. Both courses together take 6 days in total.
