Dive Site: Moc Che (Deep)

Depth: 30 meters maximum
The deep Moc Che Reef can be reached by boat from the port in Playa del Carmen in less than 10 minutes. This larger counterpart to the shallower Moc-Che reef is a typical fringing reef with a maximum diving depth of approximately 30 meters.
The dive begins with a free descent through the blue water to a depth of 24 to 25 meters, where the reef top is located. Along this approximately 5-6 meter high wall, you can frequently find overhangs teeming with inhabitants such as large green moray eels, king crabs, lionfish, and parrotfish.
With a moderate, but not overly strong current, you can drift here from south to north. With a bit of luck, in addition to marlins, sea turtles, and huge barracudas, you might even spot an occasional bull shark during the winter months.
Due to its 30-meter depth, this dive is only suitable for divers who already hold their Advanced Open Water certification.
