Shangrila Reef in Playa Del Carmen

Dive Site: Shangrila Reef

Level: Beginner
Depth: 9 meters maximum

The Shangrila Reef, with a maximum depth of 9 meters, is our shallowest reef here in Playa del Carmen. Diving here is done from south to north, with the reef on your left shoulder.

Often, besides Yellowstripe Grunts, schools of baby barracudas, American stingrays, or even turtles can be spotted here. Those with a keen eye can also spot nocturnal snails or seahorses.

Shangrila usually has no current, as it is located in a bay.

Therefore, this dive site is ideal for photographers.
