Dive Site: Cenote Tak be Ha
Level: Advanced
Depth: 6.5 meters max.
The Cenote Tak be Ha
Cenote Tak Be Ha is also located in the Dos Ojos park, about 50 km south of Playa del Carmen.
This beautiful cenote can be reached via the same route as Cenote “Tak Be Luum“. The on-site infrastructure, apart from toilets and a single gear table, looks rather sparse. Large groups of divers are certainly not expected here, which definitely gives us an advantage.
Breathtaking View
From the parking lot, a short path leads to the stairs down to Cenote Tak Be Ha. Upon entering the dry cave, a breathtaking sight unfolds. The dome-like ceiling, completely covered with stalactites, is illuminated by spotlights, and you can hear water dripping from the ceiling. The enormous tree roots offer an absolutely phenomenal panorama for a photo.
Chest-deep Water
A short staircase then leads us into the chest-deep water here. Our dive takes us through the mostly very shallow open water area for the first 15-20 minutes, and then we proceed clockwise, along the guide line, through the grotto area. Throughout the entire dive, we reach a maximum depth of 6 to 7 meters. With formations lined up like “on a silver platter,” only indirect lighting would be missing to complete the feeling of a stroll through a modern art museum.
