The Cenote Kukulkaan
Kukulkán cenotes
Via an approximately 1.5km well-maintained dirt road, we reach the parking lot for the Chac Mool and Kukulkán cenotes. The facilities for Cenote Kukulkaan diving are very well developed. In addition to toilets, changing rooms, showers, and tables to set up your equipment, there is also a small restaurant where you can enjoy freshly prepared snacks with a drink after your dives. Probably most of the cenote photos with the most amazing light effects were taken here in this cenote, so bring some cash for the Photographer as the personal use of cameras is forbidden by the owner.
The God Kukulkaan
Mesoamerican Mythology
The name of Cenote Kukulkaan comes from Mesoamerican mythology and is the supreme god of many cultures. Including the Mayans. Kukulkán is considered by many cultures, including the Aztecs and Toltecs, as the creator of the universe. He also embodies the four elements of earth, water, fire, and air.
