The Cenote Angelita

The name Cenote Angelita is fitting, and in German, it’s called “little angel“. This dive is a unique and rather unusual cenote experience in many ways.

17km south of Tulum, this is the furthest from Playa del Carmen. This picturesque circular cenote is approx. 60m deep.

Murky Water Layer

Once you dive down about 10m through an initially murky water layer, you find yourself back in clear water and look down upon a mystical layer of hydrogen sulfide at approx. 30m, which looks like a giant cloud dotted with tree trunks and branches.

Night Forest

Below the cloud is saltwater. Due to the darkness, you get the impression you are in a night forest.

Depending on air consumption, the ascent will be slow and spiral along the walls.

Experienced Divers

Due to its depth, the cenote, just like Cenote Zapote and 7 Bocas, is only suitable for experienced divers.
